Far Cry 6

2021’s Far Cry 6, which featured Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul star Giancarlo Esposito, is going free to play for an entire weekend. From Thursday, February 16 to Monday, February 20, the game will be accessible completely free of cost on all the platforms it’s available on.

Whether you’ll be able to complete the entire game in that time is up to you but if you don’t, your progress will certainly carry over when you make the full purchase. Far Cry 6 will also be available at heavily discounted rates for a limited period of time.

Depending on the version you choose, you can avail of an up to 70 percent discount on it. The Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC are the platforms you can play the game on during its free run.

Players will have access to Far Cry 6’s base game as well as its crossover missions derived from properties like Rambo (All the Blood) and Stranger Things (The Vanishing).

Lastly, Far Cry 6 will indeed be playable in co-op this weekend. Players who join forces with their friends will be rewarded with the White Lotus Sniper Rifle which will even be delivered to them after the weekend if they purchase the full game.

Developed by Ubisoft Toronto, Far Cry 6 follows the series’ familiar story and gameplay structure. Upon its release, the first-person shooter received appreciation for small enhancements to its gameplay but was criticized for its overall lack of innovation.

The game is set on a fictional Caribbean island named Yara that’s ruled by a dictatorship. Players are thrust into the shoes of guerilla fighter Dani Rojas, who is attempting to topple Castillo and his regime.

As we said, Far Cry 6 will be free to play on all platforms between Thursday, February 16 and Monday, February 20.
