EA Sports Has Reportedly Struck A Big Deal With The Premier League

FIFA 23

Word on the street is that a massive £488 million deal is on the cards between EA Sports and the Premier League that will involve the former remaining a lead partner of the English league and retaining its exclusive electronic game licence.

According to a new report, that price applies to a six-year partnership that will bring in more than £80 million annually. This information comes from Sky News, which was apparently informed about the deal by a club executive.

The Premier League is easily the most popular football competition in the world, which makes this deal an important one in terms of the branding of future EA Sports games. This is especially important since the studio lost its FIFA license last year.

That being said, its games still possess the rights to a wide array of clubs, players, and venues. And despite the fact that the World Cup is longer being in its domain, the studio can still hope to get a big boost from the inclusion of the English Premier League.

This year’s edition of the game will be called EA Sports FC and isn’t expected to feature any major departure from the previous entries to the series. You can expect the same gameplay with a few new additions and even the same game modes.

Official details about EA Sports FC remain slim at the moment but we’re certain that we’ll get to hear a lot more about it ahead of its fall 2023 launch.

In the meantime, we can indeed look forward to some confirmation with regard to the supposed deal that EA Sports has struck with the English Premier League. We’ll keep you posted with all the latest on this.
