Battlefield 2042 Beta May Be Coming Earlier Than You Expected

Battlefield 2042

It’s not yet time for Battlefield 2042 to hit store shelves but you could be able to delve into its early access beta as early as next week. If a new leak is to be believed, the beta will go live on September 6 and run through September 11.

This leak comes courtesy of Italian retailer Mediaworld, which is also known as Mediamarkt in the rest of Europe. As spotted by a Reddit user named DE8inem, Mediaworld’s product page for Battlefield 2042 featured a now-deleted promotional image for the early access beta, revealing its dates.

No official announcement about the beta has been made by DICE or EA, though the game’s FAQ page has said that the Battlefield 2042 beta would be going live “in the months leading up to launch.” With October 22 being the game’s release date, September is the only month left for the makers to target.

Unveiled in June this year following a number of leaks, Battlefield 2042 will be a multiplayer-only affair for PC as well as old-gen and new-gen consoles. Despite the absence of a single-player campaign, it still has a narrative, which is set in a world crippled by climate change where Nomadic refugees have taken up arms and are offering their services to the US and Russia, who are fighting a war.

Battlefield 2042 is all set to introduce plenty of new gameplay changes. These include a fresh ‘Plus’ system that allows you to customize your weapons on the spot. Major changes have been made to the class system, allowing you to assume the role of a specialist who can wield all the weapons and gadgets you have unlocked.
