BioShock Infinite Siren Heavy Hitter Detailed

After explaining the concepts behind the first three Heavy Hitters from BioShock Infinite, Irrational Games has gone on to reveal the fourth and last such enemy from the game. Joining the Motorized Patriot, the Handyman, and the Boys of Silence is Siren, a mysterious woman who’s floating around and raising people from the dead.

BioShock Infinite

The concept of this Heavy Hitter is based on the general trend of talking with the dead which had made its way to the U.S. during the turn of the century. Siren’s design had started early on during the development process. She is actually the ghost of a performer who uses her song to raise the dead. The challenge put forth by this enemy for gamers during combat is that even if they kill a bunch of other gunmen, they will keep coming back to life until Siren herself is executed.

Ratana Huot, Game Evangelist, Irrational Games, wrote on the blog, “Now that you’ve met the Motorized Patriot, Handyman, and the Boys of Silence, it’s now time to reveal the fourth and final installment of our Heavy Hitter series – and we’re taking the creepy factor up a notch. Imagine taking down a bunch of bad guys, only to realize that you’ve just created fuel for something far more terrifying. Backed into a corner, who gets the next bullet? You’ll be facing this decision in Columbia if you’re unfortunate enough to get discovered by the Siren.”

This upcoming game is set in a city named Columbia which is suspended in the air by giant blimps and balloons. Although, its gameplay concepts and themes are similar to BioShock and BioShock 2, it has no relevance to these titles in terms of its story.
