Kaos Studios’ first-person shooter based on a resistance movement during a near-future Korean military occupation of the U.S., is all set to be re-released as the Homefront Ultimate Edition in Europe. Scheduled to be launched on March 23, this version of the game will also kick in previously outed DLCs.
The Ultimate Edition will be made available as part of the Xbox 360 Classics and PlayStation Platinum ranges. No such version has been announced for PC as of yet. Apart from the full game, this pack will contain two map packs named ‘The Rock’ and ‘Fire Sale’. Moreover, an 870 Express Shotgun would also be offered as part of the deal.
Transpiring in the year 2027, the story of the game unravels fifteen years after the economic meltdown and the brewing global conflict over the declining amount of natural resources. America seems to have fallen, with its infrastructure devastated and military in disorder. This is when revolutionaries rise to gain back their country from the hands of the nuclear-armed Greater Korean Republic.
Launched in March last year, this title also has a novel to go along with it. Furthermore, a forthcoming sequel that was slated to be under development by Crytek, was revealed last year. Although very few details about the same are available currently, it has been confirmed that it will not be ready for release until 2014.
Gamers in Europe will be able pick up the Homefront Ultimate Edition copies on March 23, 2012. Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will be available at 24.99 Euros (approx. Rs. 1,635) each.
