City Interactive, the developer as well as the publisher of the upcoming Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 has made it known that the game will be launched for consoles and PC on August 21, 2012. Acting as a sequel to 2010’s first-person shooter named Sniper: Ghost Warrior, this title will include single-player as well as multiplayer modes.
While the previous game was developed using Techland’s Chrome Engine 4, this one has been crafted with Crytek’s CryEngine 3 technology. The game boasts itself to be the only modern shooter to be exclusively designed around the sniper experience. Diverse sniper challenges, a rebuilt AI system as well as the ‘one shot; one kill’ trait which we saw in the previous title, will all be making their way into this offering.
Battles in Ghost Warrior 2 will take place on environments such as the rocky crags of Tibet, the vine-covered jungles of the Philippines and the urban backdrop of war-torn Sarajevo. And moreover, it has also been revealed that gamers will be needed to adjust themselves to each of these environments so as to survive. And as stealth is the key to survival for a sniper, players will also be required to blend into their surroundings and cross enemy terrain unnoticed.
