PS3 fans had to wait almost a year for the launch of the FPS title on Sony’s console. But it doesn’t seem to be a case of too little too late as developers are hailing the game as ‘superior to the versions available on other platforms.’ Sniper: Ghost Warrior for PS3 adds two new bolt-action sniper rifles to the title along with new missions, cut scenes and environments.
Developers mentioned on the PlayStation blog that the introduction of new weapons required them to change the storyline and hence all the other changes. New PS3 exclusive missions include the sniper duel and the Challenge mission. The Challenge mission is designed with the lack of obvious covers for the player which requires gamers to search sniping positions and devise a plan themselves. The game mode removes most of the HUD elements to give it a realistic feel.
“One of the first things we did in the interim period was to really look at every element of the game to assess what we could do to make those improvements. Bug fixing was the first and most obvious step, but we desperately wanted to use the extra development time to give PS3 owners more content and therefore a better sniping experience,” revealed Lukasz Janczuk, Producer, Sniper: Ghost Warrior.
Sniper against Sniper multiplayer modes too are available solely for this version. Sniper: Ghost Warrior for PS3 is now available in stores.
