Gearbox Assures Borderlands 2 Will Have Fixes to Framerate and Voice Chat Issues

Some of the problems that dogged gamers in the first title of the Borderlands series were definitely its issues with framerate and voice chat. And with Borderlands 2, Gearbox Software aims to resolve the same. While answering questions asked by fans on Twitter, the studio has revealed on the official PlayStation blog that both the dilemmas are being looked into by its developers.

Gearbox Software is currently focusing on framerate and stability, but the game’s producer has revealed that it’s still ‘too early’ for him to give any final numbers. And while confirming that voice chat too will be ‘working for everyone when the game launches,’ he also mentioned that an entire portion of their programming team is working on voice communication features right now.

Referring to the game’s character customization traits, Matt Charles, Producer of Borderlands 2, wrote on the PlayStation blog, “You’ll be able to choose from a large variety of swappable heads/hairstyles/headgear in addition to choosing from hundreds of unique color and decal themes, and both together offer a ton of options for customization. As for skills, each class offers a bigger quantity and more interesting variety of skills to choose from in the skill trees.”

Charles has also confirmed that a new vehicle named the Technical will be introduced into the title. This automobile can hold 4 players at once and it even bears a few weapon configurations to choose from. Moreover, a fresh inventory screen has also been brought in, while other interface screens have received various upgrades.

Gamers can now choose to pre-order Borderlands 2 in either its standard version or its beefed up special edition versions. The game will be out for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on September 18, 2012.
