We’ve been hearing about the release of Aliens: Colonial Marines from 2008, after which it was supposed to launch during the fall of this year, but a new announcement has confirmed that the game won’t be out until February 2013. This shooter from Gearbox Software will be published by Sega and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

The title is all set to feature a single-player mode as well as cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes. It will of course be based on the revered Aliens franchise of movies, video games, comics and novels. Claimed to kick in stunning visuals and adrenaline pumping action, the game will be infused with an asymmetrical competitive multiplayer experience, which provides gamers with the choice to fight either in first person as the United States Colonial Marines, or in third person as the Xenomorphs.

Aliens: Colonial Marines will be launched for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on February 12, 2013. A Wii U version is also planned to be released later.
