Borderlands 2 will Reward gamers for playing Earlier Title

Here’s some exciting news for die-hard fans of the first Borderlands game: Borderlands 2 is all set to reward gamers with exclusive character customization elements. These items (pictured below) will be unlocked only if the saved files of the earlier title are detected by the game on the current systems.

Borderlands 2 Veteran Skins

The customization elements include heads and skins for the title’s different characters. This was revealed recently by a community manager from the game’s developer Gearbox Software on its official forum. First announced in August last year, this upcoming game will be launched by publisher 2K Games for the PS3, Xbox 360 as well as PC in September 2012.

Just like its predecessor, it will feature a first-person shooter model, but will be equipped with solid role-playing elements. Its campaign will be playable in single-player as well as co-op modes, with the latter providing support for four gamers at once. Moreover, co-op specific content and two-player local split-screen has also been revealed to form part of the title.

In April this year, Gearbox had disclosed that all those who pre-order the game will be proffered with download codes for a new Mechromancer class which will be doled out post launch. Along with standard copies, this sequel will even be made available in the form of two special edition versions named the Deluxe Vault Hunter’s Collector’s Edition and the Ultimate Loot Chest Limited Edition.
