An early preview was provided by developer Treyarch to journalists, and Joystiq has put the word out that Black Ops 2 will span decades, as gamers will be able to play during the 1980s Cold War as well as throughout a future Cold War between the US and China. It has also been revealed that the title will act as a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Keeping with the norms of the day, Black Ops 2 is set to have a branching storyline. Progress will largely depend upon how gamers fare in the Strike Force missions which will pop up during the campaign. Other than these, factors like mid-battle choices and multiple missions will decide where and how the story moves. Although the campaign will take place across decades, the multiplayer has been restricted to 2025.

The original Black Ops was much appreciated for its Zombies mode and hence, the sequel just has to have an evolved version of the mode. Not many details were disclosed by Treyarch about this, but it has been confirmed that the mode will now be presented under the multiplayer engine, thus making it simpler to take advantage of elements found in that mode.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be outed for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on 13 November, 2012. It can be pre-ordered currently at a price of 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,150).
