The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Dawnguard DLC Announced

The only information that’s out currently regarding the new DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is that it’s called Dawnguard, and it will be outed initially for the Xbox 360. Nothing else has been revealed by Bethesda as of yet, but E3 will be the stage on which the developer plans to out crucial details about this much awaited DLC for the one of last year’s most highly rated titles by gamers and critics alike.

The Bethesda blog revealed this information yesterday, even as the Skyrim Kinect update was launched for the Xbox 360. This functionality is being doled out in the form of a free title update, and can be downloaded now by all Xbox 360 gamers over an Internet connection. The developer touts that more than two hundred voice commands are included in this update.

Actions like dragon shouts, hotkey equipping, follower commands and all menus (items, magic, map, barter, container, favorites and skills) will be available to control using the voice recognition feature of Microsoft’s Kinect accessory. And moreover, gamers will also be able to quickly create and load saves during gameplay.

Skyrim was released in November last year for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The game had tons of expectations riding on it, and it managed to live up to them by delivering some excellent RPG experiences. It grabbed an overall score of 10/10 in our review, and also featured in our rosters of the best console games of 2011, best action RPGs and best sandbox games.
