Painting an image of the modern day Wild West, the next title from Ubisoft’s Call of Juarez series is expected to unearth extreme action and adventure. CoJ: The Cartel

The upcoming chapter has been crafted with distinct Wild West themes in the series’ conventional style. Touted to be a western shooter, The Cartel is being designed along a gritty narrative which follows incidences in the US subsequent to a series of devastating events. With a fictional drug cartel bombing shaking the roots of a U.S. law enforcement agency, a special task force has been instituted to search and stop this group.

The aforementioned task force comprises a gang-affiliated street kid-turned FBI agent named Kim Evans with a vile LAPD detective Ben McCall and a DEA agent christened Eddie Guerra. This team of special agents traverses from Los Angeles to California and Arizona before landing in Juarez, Mexico. While each of these characters move towards the south, their personal crisis add pepper into gameplay.

Featuring three player online co-op with Kim Evans, Eddie Guerra and Ben McCall, the storyline offers vivid perspectives. This integration has paved way for a threefold narrative, allowing gamers to play the title in the shoes of all the three characters. Each member in the special task force has a unique ending while their arsenal stretches out from anti-air weapons, pistols, machine guns and sniper rifles. Besides, enthusiasts can indulge in car chases, undercover operations and more through numerous maps and missions.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel has been scheduled to arrive in the summer of 2011 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows PC.
