Gears of War 3 is one among the much-anticipated shooter games of this year. Fashioned for the Xbox 360 console, the upcoming game is developed by Epic Games and published by Microsoft Games Studios. Just last month, we reported that the acclaimed title is slated to roll out this September. Until the complete game hits stores, the Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta is scheduled to release across Xbox Live starting April 25, 2011.
Fans of the franchise who pre-order the Limited and Epic editions with Gamestation or Game will be able to get their hands on the three weeks of multiplayer beta action. A trio of new competitive multiplayer modes as well as four exclusive maps is provided through the beta program. Two among the latter are known as Old Town and Trenches were included thanks to the Facebook poll.
The Bulletstorm: Epic Edition owners will be able to witness a one-week beta preview that includes the new Team Deathmatch mode on all four maps namely Thrashball, Old Town, Trenches and Checkout. Furthermore, there will a pair of competitive game modes dubbed as King of the Hill and Capture the Leader during the final beta week.
Participants of the beta version will also be able to unlock exclusive content which can be enjoyed in their Gears of War 3 copy of the game. These include Beta Tester Medal, Thrashball Cole and Gold-Plated Retro Lancer. Other goodies will come in the form of Flaming Hammerburst, Flaming Sawed-Off Shotgun, Flaming Lancer and Flaming Gnasher Shotgun which requires completion of respective matches at different dates.
The Gears of War 3 public multiplayer beta which begins on April 25 is expected to run all the way through May 15, 2011. Players who acquire the Bulletstorm: Epic Edition will be able to experience the action on April 18, 2011 via the Bulletstorm disc. The complete game is slated to release on September 20, 2011. The Standard, Limited and Epic editions are individually priced at 49.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 3,641), 59.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 4,369) and 99.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 7,283).
