E3 2010: Epic Games and EA’s Bulletstorm gets ship date

It was back in April this year when Epic Games and EA announced the first person shooter title Bulletstorm. Now Epic Games, People Can Fly and Electronic Arts have revealed a ship date for their hot new original property, Bulletstorm. The game is scheduled to ship in February next year for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Bulletstorm is described as a blood symphony combining outrageous gunplay with kick, slide and leash mechanics. Players get into the habit of killing as they slaughter waves of mutilated enemies. Doing so racks up points and unlocks weapons. The game is set in a future utopia where an elite peacekeeping force stops civil war from breaking out. But two members of the most feared unit, Dead Echo, lash out at their own. Mercenaries Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato are left stranded on Stygia, an abandoned paradise planet, and are surrounded by swarms of mutants and flesh-eating gangs. They must get off the planet and exact revenge on the person who sent them there.

As Gray, players can perform blistering combat moves with uniquely innovative weapons. The game’s “skillshot” system gives extreme levels of gameplay rewarding players for creating mayhem. More insane skillshots earn the player more points which help in upgrading and unlocking weapons.
