BioShock delivered the world a whole new experience when it released in 2007, and the sequel BioShock 2 is eagerly anticipated by fans wanting more of the little sisters and big daddys. Now we have word that 2K Games has announced February 9, 2010 as the global release date for BioShock 2, and that the game can now be pre-ordered from participating retailers.
The sequel is set some 10 years after the first and a monster has been abducting little girls and bringing them back to undersea city of Rapture. This time around, players step into the shoes of a Big Daddy chasing down “an unseen foe” in a battle for survival.
The multiplayer in BioShock 2 sets up a prequel wherein players assume the role of a Plasmid test subject for Sinclair Solutions. You must use all your BioShock knowledge and the full toolset to survive in the underwater world of Rapture.
BioShock 2 is currently in development for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Games for Windows Live. The game is being developed by 2K Marin and is scheduled for a global release of February 9, 2010.
