Gearbox Software’s Aliens: Colonial Marines was rumored to be facing a few setbacks with the company handing out layoffs to a number of its employees. Now Shacknews has spotted on the developer’s website that the Texas-based company is hiring for ‘all projects’.
The game listing page also suggests that the game, Aliens: Colonial Marines is in development. Apparently, the page was updated on April 13, 2009, some two months after the first emergence of these rumors.
The rumors were spot on about the cancellation of the Aliens RPG, which had apparently been in development for a long time with Obsidian Entertainment, and led many to believe that even Colonial Marines would be cancelled. These rumors got stronger in February when publisher Sega announced that Aliens vs. Predator from Rebellion would be released in 2010 before any other Aliens title.
Aliens: Colonial Marines is expected to be released for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 with no prices or release dates known.
