One of the launch titles for Sony’s current generation console was Resistance: Fall of Man. The first person shooter was a hit and soon a sequel was announced. Well, given the blockbuster nature of the title, there was bound to be some kind of a special edition for Resistance 2. Now SCEA has sent word about the Resistance 2 Collector’s Edition for the PS3.
Ted Price is the president and chief executive officer of Insomniac Games. He says, “Resistance 2 is Insomniac’s most ambitious game yet. The team’s goals from the onset have been to heighten the online experience and encourage experienced and novice players to jump online.”
Price added, “With an eight-player, co-op campaign and 60-player squad-based competitive multiplayer, Resistance 2 offers players a complete online experience on a scale like no other. We really value the feedback of the Resistance community and are excited to open the beta and provide our dedicated fan base an early look at Resistance 2’s multiplayer features.”
Resistance 2 Collector’s Edition features an exclusive Chimeran Hybrid action figure that has its own Bullseye weapon. It has been created by DC Unlimited. Besides the copy of the game (of course), there will be a special edition cover artwork selected specially by the fans. It also has a double-sided hard-cover Resistance 2 art book offering two unique perspectives of war-torn America. The CE of R2 will have an exclusive in-game HVAP Wraith multiplayer weapon skin.
The Collector’s Edition of Resistance 2 will feature a bonus DVD that has exclusive content. So what does the DVD exactly have? Well, it has a preview of the Resistance: The Gathering Storm novel as well as a behind the scenes video of the game. There is even a Shattered History Resistance chronology video and a digital copy of the Resistance comic book.
Resistance 2 has been developed by Insomniac Games and is expected to be out in North America on November 4, 2008. The Resistance 2 CE will be available till supplies last. It will come with a price tag of $79.99 (approx. Rs. 3515).
