Besides MotorStorm, one of the best games yet on the PlayStation 3 is Resistance: Fall of Man. The success of the game had meant that there would be a sequel and Sony could make it into a system selling franchise. Now Game Informer has details of the much rumored sequel, Resistance 2.
Resistance 2 is expected to have two campaigns! You read it right, the shooter will have two campaigns, of which one will be following the protagonist Nathan Hale in single player. The other campaign in Resistance 2 will be a completely separate co-op story campaign, which will support 2 players offline and up to 8 players online. What’s more is that the online multiplayer will have dedicated servers, which will support 60 people.
Also, Resistance 2 will have a class system such as Heavy, Special Ops, and Medic. There is no conformation whether it will be in single or multiplayer maps (or both), but we can tell you that the shooter will feature partially randomized geometry in some stages thereby keeping the levels fresh.
Resistance 2 is expected to release in Fall 2008. Resistance: Fall of Man was a wicked shooter and data from industry-research group NPD Funworld shows that it had sold some 791,000 copies as of November 2007. However, the game came with its own share of troubles as the Church had drawn offense to it. Let’s hope Resistance 2 does not have any controversies like that.
