World Tekken Federation will add Social features to Tekken Tag Tournament 2

Namco Bandai Games recently announced that its upcoming fighter, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will come with support for various social features owing to its World Tekken Federation trait. The service allows Tekken players to interact with others in a social community dedicated to the series. Here they will be able to keep a track of personal statistics, and even compare them against those of others from all over the globe. Its other features include creating and managing teams with friends, competing in online events as well as discussing fighting strategies. This trait is now expected to form part of all Tekken games to be released in the future.

“With Tekken Tag Tournament 2, the team is committed to providing an unparalleled fighting game experience and are proving our dedication to this effort by offering World Tekken Federation free of charge to everyone who buys a copy of the game. Bringing together Tekken fans from around the globe in such a robust online community is a first for the fighting game genre and will give veterans and beginners a chance to develop their fighting skills in an exciting new way,” commented Carlson Choi, Vice President of Marketing for Namco Bandai Games America.

This is the eighth main installment to the popular fighting game franchise. In Japan, it is already out on Arcades, while it’s even slated to launch for the Wii U during the fall of this year. It hasn’t been made clear as to whether the social features of the new trait will be made available for the latter version.
