Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Headed for Consoles This September

Namco Bandai Games has announced that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be making its way to the PS3 and Xbox 360 in September this year. Said to contain the largest player roster in Tekken history, this game will kick in fifty characters complete with their expanded fight arsenals and moves which they will unleash on fresh battle locations set in different countries from around the world.

Apart from Tekken’s trademark tag-based fights, the title will also comprise both one-on-one fighting and solo fighter vs. a tag-team battle. In its Pair Play mode, a maximum of four players will each be able to control a character on the same console. An all new Fight Lab mode will enable gamers to customize the moves and appearance of a new training character named Combot.

Carlson Choi, vice president of marketing, Namco Bandai Games, explained “There is so much packed into Tekken Tag Tournament 2 that we can’t wait to reveal to fans of both fighting games and fans of all games. The latest entry into the iconic series will have the level of depth expected of the highest-selling fighting game franchise of all time, but also the accessibility for new fans and gaming noobs alike.”

The first entry to this much loved series was launched on Arcades in 1999. The following year, it was ported to the PS2, whereas last year saw the game being released for the PS3 in the form of Tekken Tag Tournament HD. And the new game is set to contain a number of fresh features including an online function which will be revealed at the E3 in June.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 won’t be out until September, 2012, but gamers can pre-order it currently at a price of 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,095).
