Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Announced, Slated for Holiday Season 2012 Release

Fans of the popular fighting genre can look forward to a new installment in the familiar Tekken franchise as Namco Bandai Games officially announces Tekken Tag Tournament 2. The company states that gamers can expect the Tekken Tag Tournament successor to arrive on home consoles all across the globe by the holiday season next year.

The much awaited sequel to the popular title that released back in 2000, is preparing to zoom into the gaming terrain complete with loads of arcade action as well as unique content. According to Namco Bandai, the upcoming game is slated to be the most feature-rich installment ever to grace the Tekken franchise.

“We have heard the voice of fans directly at various tournaments and through social media.” explained Katsuhiro Harada, Tekken Project Director at Namco Bandai Games. “As Tekken is the top-selling fighting game franchise worldwide we know expectations for the widely anticipated sequel to Tekken Tag Tournament are high, but we are confident we can deliver what you’ve been asking for and even more.”

The new features that are touted to be embedded into the title include an online functionality among others. This aspect has been greatly refurbished by the developers, taking into consideration all the fan feedback. The company also reveals that Tag Tournament 2 will be infused with new attributes that haven’t yet featured in the current arcade version that has already unleashed in Japan.

As mentioned earlier, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is scheduled to hit the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles by the holiday season next year. The exact release date and price hasn’t yet been disclosed by the company.
