Mortal Kombat PS3 demo gets over here on March 8

Back in January this year, we reported that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment along with NetherRealm Studios divulged release dates of the upcoming Mortal Kombat. Earlier, fans were only treated to the explosive cover art of the game that featured the likes of Scorpion and Sub-Zero battling it out. Now they can look forward to getting a taste of just what to expect from the complete game.

The companies join forces once again to reveal that the PS3 demo version of Mortal Kombat will be available on March 8, 2011. Through this offering, gamers can grab hold of familiar warriors Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, Mileena and Scorpion. Two acclaimed arenas will also open for them namely the Pit and the Living Forest. This version comes forth with the arcade ladder for either one or two players.

The upcoming iteration of Mortal Kombat is looked upon as the most fastest and brutal offering in the famous franchise. Besides delivering a mature presentation and reinvented classic 2D fighting mechanic, the latest title also provides new gameplay features. These include deeper story mode, tag team and arcade battle both online as well as offline. Players can opt from an extensive line-up of fighters and indulge in traditional 1 vs. 1 matches with friends. PS3 owners will be able to witness the inclusion of God of War fighter Kratos as well as Stereoscopic 3D.

The demo version of Mortal Kombat can be availed by PlayStation Plus members on the PS3 starting March 8 while PlayStation Network users strewn across the globe can partake in all the mayhem on March 15, 2011. Xbox 360 owners can download the demo from Xbox Live at a later date. The complete title is slated to release on April 21, 2011 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
