Last year, they had published a MotoGP game for the PlayStation 2. But this deal is not just about the PS2. Capcom has stated that they would be making MotoGP videogames for all hardware platforms. The deal will run for five years and replaces the present rights granted to publish titles on the PlayStation platforms.

Carmelo Ezpeleta is the chief executive officer of Dorna Sports. He says, “Capcom has already shown its capability to deliver a title that captures the real meaning of MotoGP and we look forward to working with them over the next five years.”

Mark Beaumont is the Executive VP, Officer and Head of Capcom consumer software publishing in the Americas and Europe. He stated, “We are very thrilled to have signed this long term agreement with Dorna Sports, which for the first time grants one publisher worldwide multi-platform rights to the adrenaline fuelled world of MotoGP. We feel this move to a single publisher will greatly benefit our ability to develop titles that bring more authenticity and exhilaration to the consumer.”

Capcom is expected to publish games based on the 2008 MotoGP season on the PS2, PS3, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and the PC platforms. And yes, they are also planning to get MotoGP games for the mobile handsets. A few months ago, THQ had revealed MotoGP 07 for the Xbox 360 and the PC.
