Enough has been said about the movie based on the Halo series. Big names like Peter Jackson and Neill Blomkamp have been associated with a Halo movie but it never took off! Now a movie news website Latino Review is reporting that Stuart Beattie, who is the screenwriter of G.I. Joe has penned a spec screenplay for Halo: Fall of Reach.
This Halo: Fall of Reach screenplay is based on the Eric Nylund novel of the same name. It revolves around a soldier named John who is viciously trained to develop into an elite Spartan warrior known as Master Chief 117. The movie, it seems, will be about the ghastly first contact with the Covenant hordes on the condemned colony world of Harvest. Fans of the Halo series will be happy to know that the screenplay also indicates that there will be two more movies, Halo: Rise of the Flood and Halo: Battle for Earth. The latter will be follows the events of Halo 3.
Gamers would be happy to note that Stuart Beattie is a big fan of the Halo series. He was commissioned by various studios to work on movie versions of Splinter Cell, Spy Hunter and Gears of War. Let’s hope that Microsoft does take a serious interest in this script and gamers are treated to a Halo movie soon.
