Policenauts from Konami formally released for the PC-9821 computer platform back in 1994. This was closely followed by releases on different systems like 3DO, PlayStation and Sega Saturn. The gameplay mostly comprises of still images complete with a text-based menu interface and fully-voiced dialogue.

The game features the likes of Jonathan Ingram who was once an extraterrestrial Earth colony policeman. He returned back to earth after 25 years of drifting in space. Ingram was saved by the ‘cold sleep’ system built-in his suit. On his successful return, he is now initiated as a private investigator. Jonathan tries to solve a mysterious disappearance and even a murder.

The title bares quite a few similarities to Kojima’s Snatcher. To access the English translation patch players would need a copy of the Japanese PlayStation version of the game along with a PS console that is compatible with CD-R discs.
