The Dead Space remake is also set to arrive on the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S but no such incentive is being doled out for owners of the two consoles. It’s worth noting that the new version is not a remaster but a complete remake from the ground up.

The original Dead Space was released way back in 2008 by Electronic Arts. It was developed by the now-defunct EA Redwood Shores which was later renamed Visceral Games.

The survival horror game was set inside a mining spaceship that was overrun by deadly monsters called Necromorphs. You play engineer Isaac Clarke as he navigates the spaceship and fights the Necromorphs while struggling with growing psychosis.

The original game had received immense praise for its atmosphere, gameplay and sound design. In fact, it’s counted among the greatest video games ever made. Apart from two sequels, it has also received a few spin-offs.

The Dead Space remake is being developed by Motive Studios and is set to feature an improved story and new gameplay mechanics. As for its visuals, the game has gone for redesigned assets, character models, and environments. As we said, it will be released on January 26.
