It’s time to visit the Forgotten Realms in the Minecraft world even as a Dungeons & Dragons DLC has been announced for the game. Scheduled to arrive sometime this spring, this content was revealed right in time for the release of the film, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

It was showcased by Wizards of the Coast in their traditional D&D Direct online show. Apart from new Minecraft challenges, the Dungeons & Dragons DLC will bring with it a custom combat system that will use a 20-side die, as in the immensely popular tabletop game.

This new DLC, moreover, will feature a campaign that will last for around 10 hours. Minecraft players will be allowed to jump into the game as several D&D classes like Barbarian, Paladin, Wizard, and Rogue.

The Dungeons & Dragons DLC will also include many well-known monsters like mimics, beholders, and mind flayers. Some of the D&D locations that will be explorable include the Candlekeep Library and the Icewind Dale.

Minecraft was first released over a decade ago and is still showing no signs of losing popularity. Its unlimited sandbox gameplay has allowed it to be the best-selling video game in history, with over 238 million copies sold.

Moreover, as of 2021, it also boasted 140 million monthly active users. This kind of commitment from fans results in some crazy worlds being built that keep amazing us throughout the year.

A bulk of the credit for Minecraft’s reach also goes to the wide array of platforms it can be played on. Apart from the regular consoles and PC, it can be played on Android, iOS, and many other platforms.

Right now, we don’t have a definite release date for the Dungeons & Dragons DLC for Minecraft but as we said, it is planned to be released this spring.
