Hitman 3 Gets Free Ambrose Island Map This Month

Hitman 3

Fans of Hitman 3 will soon have a new map to dip themselves in, even as its makers have announced that a free new sandbox named Ambrose Island will be dished out on July 26. This map is part of the game’s year two content roadmap that was outlined by IO Interactive in November last year.

Hitman 3’s Ambrose Island is a tropical enclave that’s described as a hidden cove in the Andaman Sea. The island is described as the home of a dangerous pirate syndicate. It is packed with new targets, gameplay opportunities, challenges, and unlockable rewards.

One look at Ambrose Island and it’s clear that it does not look like the map that was teased by IO Interactive last year during the reveal of the game’s year two content. Also, during this presentation, studio head Hakan Abrak had mentioned that new “maps” will be coming to the game so it’s safe to say that at least one more map is on the cards for Hitman 3.

Meanwhile, the game is also set to receive a new roguelike mode, called Freelancer that is currently scheduled to arrive anytime during the second half of 2022. And then of course, the game’s Elusive Targets system is still active, regularly giving players new targets to eliminate on familiar maps.

Hitman 3 concluded the trilogy that had started with 2016’s Hitman, a game that was released in an episodic fashion throughout the year. Hitman 2 came in 2018 but all its episodes were released together owing to the disappointing sales of the first game. Hitman 3 came out in January 2021 and is currently the highest-grossing Hitman game of all time.

The Ambrose Island map for Hitman 3 will arrive as a free update for all versions on Hitman 3 on July 27.
