For Honor had quite a rise when it was launched back in February, but the game is seeing a big fall in the number of players putting their hours into it. And now comes news that is indeed bound to push those numbers further down, apart from also possibly tarnishing Ubisoft’s reputation.
It’s not unusual for a big league game to have microtransactions these days, but the makers of For Honor seem to have overstepped the limit. It has been observed that buying all the unlocks for the game will set you back by a whopping $700. And this is over and above the $60 you have paid for the game already.
An argument to this will be that one can unlock them just by putting in more hours into the game, rather than by paying for them. But here’s the tricky part. A Reddit user who has run all the numbers has predicted that a gamer who plays For Honor for around 1 to 2 hours for 5 to 7 days a week will take 915 days in order to get all the unlocks. That’s roughly 2.51 years.
Now even if someone decides to play the game relentlessly for hours upon hours, they will still need more than a year to get all the unlocks. And by the way, the $700 amount does not include the DLC packs that are sold for the game separately.
For those unaware, For Honor is a medieval fighting game that allows you to play the roles of historical soldiers. It’s available to buy for the PS4, the Xbox One and PC.
