A lot Android users who happen to be Nintendo fans have been clamoring for Super Mario Run to hit Google Play Store ever since it was released for iPhone and iPad in December 2016. Now the game has finally hit Android – for free, of course.
But it’s only free up to the first three stages. You’ll have to fork out Rs 800 or $10 towards in-app purchases to play more of the game. Some people have been complaining about the price. It’s not that bad, is it? Rs 800 covers the cost of two movie tickets, if you think about it. Rs 800 (or $10) has you covered for the rest of the 21 Worlds.
There are no further in-app purchases currently, and Nintendo doesn’t seem keen on introducing any in the future. Super Mario Run covers Tour which takes players through several courses with infinite retries permitted, Rally, for competing against other players or bots for points, and Build – a chance to decorate the Mushroom Kingdom.
Super Mario Run can be played with just one finger for jumping since Mario running automatically. The levels are not as easy to complete as you’d think; making it challenging enough to keep players interested. There are a few downsides to the game though. It can only be played in portrait mode, a minor inconvenience that proves mildly irritating nonetheless.
Secondly, you have to have an active internet connection while playing it. This is perhaps all right if you’re paying an arm and a leg for data. Otherwise, you might end up paying a lot more for the pleasure of collecting points and powerups than $10 or Rs 800. Follow this link to download the game on Android.
