The upcoming Mad Max game which is under development from Just Cause maker Avalanche Studios has been blessed with a new trailer. This video which contains gameplay footage as well can be spotted in the space below. It gives us a glimpse at the upcoming game’s story, and showcases the over the top vehicular combat that is going to form part of it.
Dubbed Savage Road, this new Mad Max trailer tells us that the titular character’s iconic car is going to play a huge part in the overall narrative. Vehicular combat tournaments will be included in the gameplay as well.
This game is supposed to be a standalone offering, and has almost nothing in common in terms of story, with the film Mad Max: The Fury Road that was released not too long ago. The two were being developed independently, and it’s just a coincidence that they are being released in the same year.
Despite the fact that Mad Max will have an open world environment, it has been revealed that 60 percent of the game will have you driving vehicles. Free-flow combat borrowed from the Batman Arkham series will be present in the game as well, apart from a range of modified weapons that will make you feel at home in the franchise’s universe.
Mad Max does not feature a multiplayer mode, with of the development studio’s focus having being directed solely towards the campaign experience. It’s under development for the PS4, the Xbox One as well as Windows and Linux.
Mad Max will be released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on September 1 this year. Another much awaited offering from Avalanche Studios, Just Cause 3 is slated to arrive during the holiday season.
