Resident Evil Revelations 2 will officially get local co-op

The first episode of Resident Evil Revelations 2 was released by Capcom at the end of February, and something that gamers found to be missing in it was the facility to play in co-op mode locally. While fans have already managed to create a mod which makes this possible, the developers of this game have revealed that they’ll be officially rolling out this feature themselves as well. It will be released in the form of a beta soon, so there are bound to be a few bugs hidden inside it.

While Capcom was advertising the game, the local co-op mode was pretty much shown to be a part of its PC version, which is what shocked fans when it wasn’t included in the released copy. A modder took this issue into his own hands, and crafted a mod which let gamers play the campaign mode of Resident Evil Revelations 2 in split-screen mode with the help of gamepads. All the while, Capcom was seemingly monitoring player feedback, and it apparently deemed it appropriate to bless fans with a way to play co-op locally.

The company has announced that it will soon be releasing a beta branch on Steam, which will enable players to jump into the Story and Raid modes locally via split-screen support. It has however warned that this addition won’t be hundred percent polished upon its release, as it wants to get it into the hands of fans in a hurry. The company has also mentioned that those who are not happy with the game are being offered refunds via Steam at the moment.
