Watch Dogs to run in full HD resolution at 60fps on the PS4 [Update]

Update: Ubisoft has confirmed through a blog post that Watch Dogs will run on the PS4 at 900p and on the Xbox One at 792p, with both versions capped at 30fps. Sony has since taken down the statement in question.

Original Story: After a very long and delayed development cycle, Ubisoft’s next-gen flagship, Watch Dogs is finally ready to be launched this month. Amongst all the other platforms which it will be released for, the PS4 seems to have an upper hand right now. It has been revealed by the game’s makers that this open world hacktion-adventure (if you will) would be able to run in 1080p resolution at the sweet gaming framerate of 60fps.

The title’s description on the official PlayStation website has given away this fact, delighting owners of the said console who are excited about this upcoming game. For those who’re planning on going for a PC version, the most equipped computers will apparently also be able to run Watch Dogs in a 4K resolution, but this is yet to be confirmed and so is its framerate on this platform. The description from Sony also tells us that this title will run on the PS4 ‘in a way that only PS4 can provide.’

This makes us wonder whether the Xbox One edition of the game will again suffer from the comparatively inferior resolution and framerate dilemma. Anyway, confirmation will only come when Ubisoft decides to reveal it officially or when Watch Dogs is launched. This is not that far away from now as the game has been granted a worldwide release date of May 27.

This applies only to its PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC versions however, as its Wii U version will be rolled out sometime later this year.
