The Bureau: XCOM Declassified

It has been revealed by IGN that this game will be set in 1962 during the Cold War period. It will take place in the same universe as last year’s strategy title, Enemy Unknown, and will act as a prequel to it. It will tell the story of the origins of the Initiative organization portrayed within the said game. Players will be asked to jump into the shoes of agent William Carter, who happens to be an intelligence operative who is forced to go up in arms against the aliens that have landed in the United States.

The game’s creative director, Morgan Gray, told the aforementioned website that his team has basically tried to take all the classic XCOM gameplay tenets and infuse them into the tactical third-person shooter approach of this title. Tools and technology will act as a major highlight of the whole experience throughout the entire journey. Furthermore, tactics will of course form a huge part as well. On the battlefield, the player character will be allowed to control forces using an interface called Battle Focus.

This feature would allow them to perform such activates as maneuvering and positioning their teammates around the battlefield in real-time, setting target prioritization as well as utilizing different powers and abilities of the squads. Ranking up player characters will enable gamers to customize them with a number of different options. Additionally, it has also been revealed by its maker that only single-player gameplay will be included in the whole package, and no kind of multiplayer support will be present in it.
