Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD goes official, so does Assassin’s Creed: Pirates [video]

The chatter about Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD has turned out to be true, even as Ubisoft has gone ahead and officially revealed the game. This updated version of last year’s Vita title is slated to be released as a downloadable for the PS3, Xbox 360 as well as PC in 2014. And then there’s Assassin’s Creed Pirates, a spin-off to this year’s entry in the massive AC series, which is to be launched for mobile platforms in 2013 itself.

Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD is more than just a high definition update, Ubisoft has made clear. Apart from revamped graphics, new missions and other enhancements will also be seen forming part of its offerings. Additionally, a new tutorial system would be granted to gamers, while fresh combat opportunities will emerge, for protagonist Aveline will be able to dual-wield her weapons now. Ubisoft has also revealed that the game’s free-running, facial animations, framerates and cutscenes are being enhanced as well. Lastly, each mission within the title is being reworked to grant better ‘pacing and challenge.’

Based off of the newest entry to the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Pirates is aimed at smartphones and tablets. It will place you in the boots of a young and ambitious captain named Alonzo Batilla, and have you searching for La Buse’s legendary treasure. From what can be gathered as of now, this game has its focus set on naval battles alone, even as activities like managing your crew, upgrading your ship, engaging in naval battles have been announced to form part of it. It’s not quite sure as to what software platforms it will be made available for.

Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD and Assassin’s Creed Pirates had both leaked out recently through an image which had given away the existence of a number of other upcoming Ubisoft downloadables.
