Ubisoft E3 2013 highlights: More Watch Dogs gameplay and new IPs

Chief among all the Ubisoft E3 2013 highlights were a few new IPs that will be hitting next-gen consoles either this year or next year. Apart from those, a number of other important details about its upcoming games were also put forth by the publisher. Let’s have a look at them then.

Ubisoft E3 2013 Highlights

Rocksmith 2014 was announced for the first time, and that too with a demonstration by Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell who showcased the title’s new Session mode. This feature lets gamers use voice commands so as to change a song’s tempo as they play along. It is expected to be released this October, but no details of its platforms were revealed.

A free-to-play PC action-RPG named The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot got showcased at the event as well. It’s slated to launch later this year, but registrations for its closed beta are already being accepted right now.

Good news for South Park fans. South Park: The Stick of Truth is still alive, revealed the publisher. Under development from Obsidian Entertainment, this RPG is ready to hit the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC during the holiday season this year.

A big entry to this Ubisoft E3 2013 highlights post is The Crew which is a street racing title under development from Ubisoft Reflections and Ivory Tower. This game will be out on the PS4, Xbox One and PC early next year. It will kick in some kind of an online persistent world which ‘blurs the lines’ between its single-player, multiplayer and co-op.

The Ubisoft E3 2013 highlights would have been incomplete if Watch Dogs hadn’t received another showcase at the event. A long gameplay video of the title was shown by the publisher along with new footage from Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag as well.

Just Dance 2014 was announced, and it’s coming in October this year for current as well as next-gen consoles. Six-player dance routines, DJ features and other new traits will be making their way into it, while a special Party Mode will be exclusive to the Wii U.

And then there’s Rabbids Invasion which has been revealed to be an interactive game and television show hybrid aimed at the Xbox One. No details regarding its release date were mentioned however.

The much appreciated Trials series got blessed with two new offerings which were unveiled by developer RedLynx. First among them is Trials Fusion, an Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PC offering, while the second one is a mobile game called Trials Frontier. Both will be arriving next year.

The final one among all the Ubisoft E3 2013 highlights was Tom Clancy’s The Division, an online open world RPG. Also slated to arrive next year, it takes place on ravaged environments. Take a peek at its gameplay which has been showcased in the trailer we’ve embedded below.
