Ubisoft has treated fans with yet another iteration of its successful Assassin’s franchise in the form of Assassin’s Creed Revelations which was released yesterday for the PS3 and Xbox 360. As reported earlier, the PC version of the game will be coming out on December 2, 2011.
This action-adventure involves Ezio Auditore and the longstanding tiff between Assassins and Templars. In AC Revelations, Ezio will be required to choose paths that will take him to Constantinople, which lies right in the middle of the Ottoman Empire. Here, a mounting army of Templars threatens to strike at the very foundations of the region.
The game has been developed and led by Ubisoft Montreal with support and expertise from Ubisoft studios Annecy, Massive Entertainment, Singapore and Bucharest and Quebec. Assassin’s Creed Revelations has earlier been announced to be the final game in the series to feature Ezio and also the last title to transpire in the Renaissance era.
AC Revelations also kicks in several online multiplayer modes that have apparently been refined and expanded over the previous ones. New modes, maps and characters also make their way into the multiplayer part of this title. A glimpse of the game’s online features was allowed to be seen through its multiplayer beta which went live for a few days earlier this year.
Along with the title, an animated short movie called Assassin’s Creed Embers has also been released worldwide. This film will build upon the final chapter in the life of assassin Ezio Auditore. It will be available with the game’s Animus Edition, Collector’s Edition and also through PSN and Xbox Live.
Assassin’s Creed Revelations now retails in stores worldwide with a price tag of 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,021) for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Upon its release on December 2, the game’s PC version will be made available at 49.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,518).
