Dead Island fans can gear up for some more zombie-slaying action, as the Bloodbath Arena DLC for the title has been officially announced by publisher Deep Silver. This pack is slated to be launched for the PS3, Xbox 360 as well as the PC versions of the title on November 22, 2011.
This DLC would imbibe the game with four new arenas that will proffer players with fresh challenges. These can be played by them either alone or in co-op mode. The new content is being claimed to be a desperate fight for endurance, filled with waves after waves of merciless zombies. Moreover, through this DLC, the game’s characters would be able to loot experience points and items, while also possessing the power to transfer them over to campaign mode.
Newly implemented leaderboards and a new exclusive weapon named ‘brain wave bomb’ also make their way into this pack. This DLC was originally speculated to be made available in September. It was also being said that the new weapon would be called ‘The Ripper,’ but as it turns out, that news too isn’t accurate. The Bloodbath DLC will be doled out for free to those who own pre-order copies of the title.
This game is a first person horror action-adventure title that transpires on the fictional Royal Palms Resort in Banoi which is strangely hit by a zombie epidemic. Players are required to assume the roles of four different characters who must fight for their survival.
The Bloodbath Arena DLC for Dead Island will be released for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on November 22 and will retail at 7.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 641) and 800 Microsoft Points for the respective systems.
