Gears of War 3 Never Fight Alone Beta Phase to Commence on May 8

As the locust infestation has been spreading at a swifter pace, the Gears are now perking up for a new challenge. While we’ve been waiting for the title to come home, Epic Games unleashed the Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta last month. It has now been revealed that the Never Fight Alone beta phase for the title will be accessible starting May 8, 2011.

Those who have been fighting it out in the beta which flagged off late last month can now invite a friend to accompany them across the jagged world of the title. The company has divulged that a ‘buddy token’ will be distributed via email to the existing beta participants. With the token, players can enter the battlefield with a friend alongside for an entire week as they wade through the chaotic in-game environment.

Gamers coming into the beta for the first time on May 8 will have the opportunity to cross chainsaws through the Gears of War 3 Team Deathmatch, Capture the Leader and King of the Hill competitive modes. The beta will also enable them to accomplish campaigns across four multiplayer maps namely Thrashball, Checkout, Trenches and Old Town. Enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to unlock numerous items including exclusive medals, weapon skins and character variants. Further, this content can be carried into the full game following its release.

Epic Games has divulged that Gears of War 3 is now up for pre-order in the Standard, Limted and Epic editions at the price of 49.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 3,670), 59.99 GBP (approx.
