The city of Pompeii is probably what a lot of gamers will recall when they watch the trailer from Epic Games’ upcoming Gears of War 3 that made its debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Cliff Bleszinski, design director of Epic Games who presented the trailer titled ‘Ashes to Ashes’ also went on to confirm that the game will see an April 2011 launch.
The 73 second trailer opens up to desolate urban environs and frozen figures turned to ash. There’s Marcus Fenix and his gang of COGs in a raging battle involving Locust gunfire and massive creatures sporting tentacles that mutate while they’re being fought against. This third-person shooter is set to feature doubled barreled shotguns and female soldiers too, as pointed out by Bleszinski.
Flaunting stunning graphics, the scene ends with COG soldiers making a final stand as the enemy forces surround them. The trailer fades away with the words ‘Brothers to the end’. This sneak peek is touted to outline the world that gamers can expect to witness in Gears of War 3.
Gears of War 3 is set to be launched on April 8, 2011 for Xbox 360.
