EA and Crytek get Richard Morgan On-board for Crysis 2 Story

EA and Crytek have announced that they have teamed up with Richard Morgan, award-winning author of science-fiction best-sellers, for the story of blockbuster action game Crysis 2. Morgan’s trademark visceral writing style will drive the project, in his first entry into the video game medium.

“Video games are one of the only things in my life I would qualify as a complete addiction,” Richard Morgan commented. “The medium has every bit the potential for exciting and emotionally charged storytelling as literature and film, and I’m excited to explore this format on my first project in partnership with a world class developer like Crytek.”

Crysis 2 has the city of New York under attack from an alien species which combines lethal weaponry, extraordinary sensory abilities and intelligent collaboration. Players will face the most challenging opponents ever in a first person shooter as they adapt to the urban jungle in order to save New York.

Developed using Crytek’s new state-of-the art multi-platform game development system, CryEngine 3, Crysis 2 will be made available this holiday season for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
