America’s Army 3 for PC Announced

Millions of Americans watched as Barrack Obama took oath yesterday and became the forty-forth president of the United States of America. Patriotic sentiment is higher than ever in the US. It seems that the U.S. Army has chosen this time to announce America’s Army 3.

Americas Army

Col. Casey Wardynski is the originator and director of the America’s Army game project. Wardynski says, “With AA3, we’re taking military gaming to an all new level where every detail counts. We want our America’s Army 3 players to have a greater understanding of the Army and its values. Our Soldiers are inspirational figures and our players are able to virtually experience many facets of a Soldier’s life from their training, to their missions, to the way the Army has influenced their lives.”

Michael Bode, Executive Producer, America’s Army stated, “In AA3 we have taken all of the best features in AA2, incorporated feedback from the AA community and added the latest technology to develop a high-tech game that can be tailored by the player to create a much more comprehensive interactive experience. One of our key design philosophies is to make the game easily accessible to a new player, while at the same time keeping a deeper layer of complexity for the more advanced players to discover and take advantage of.”

America’s Army 3 will be powered by the Unreal Engine 3. The action game tells the story of an Infantry Soldier (11B) but gamers can select to be a rifleman, automatic rifleman, grenadier and a designated marksman. The game is expected to be more authentic this time as it will have more genuine military elements such as technology, weapons all as sound. What’s interesting is that gamers can also explore the aspect of a combat medic. Also, America’s Army 3 has many new training levels.

America’s Army 3 or AA3 is expected to be out later this year. The game will be free. And yes, there will be multiplayer along with a new feature where gamers can join online games with limited capabilities via the instant action feature. The first America’s Army game was released in 2002.
