Capcom had released the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix using original game code with an upgrade in graphics, new artwork and improved high resolution 1080p images. The revived title has now broken records among the downloadable games. Here’s what Capcom had to say:

The classic Super Street Fighter HD Remix is actually just short of becoming the highest grossing digital title ever. The title has in fact created quite a stir in the gaming terrain by breaking both day one and week one sales records. It also expected to crack the 30 day sales records.

With the quarter million milestone up its sleeve, the original Street Fighter has been in the gaming terrain for the past 15 years or so. The one to two player head-to-head game now appears to be getting the records straight in the digital-download sphere.
