Sabotage Renamed to Velvet Assassin by Replay Studios

There are many stealth action games besides Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell that are available in the market. One such game that was going to be released soon was Sabotage. But now Replay Studios has sent word that they have changed the name of the title to Velvet Assassin.

Velvet Assassin is inspired by the true story of British Agent Violette Szabo, who went behind enemy lines in Nazi occupied Europe. The game will feature innovative art style, storyline as well as combat gameplay. It will also have lush, fantastic visuals along with a ground-breaking stealth combat system.

Tim Hesse is the executive producer at Gamecock Media Group. He explains, “Most of the time a name change happens because it’s not ‘catchy’ enough or because the marketing team didn’t like it. I have to say, the Replay crew have bested themselves by making Violette into one of the best looking stealth-killers ever. This game has come so far since last year that Sabotage just didn’t do the game justice, ‘Velvet Assassin’ sums up every aspect that makes this game great.”

Sascha Jungnickel, Creative Director, Replay Studios says, “Rather than a trite, overused, and generic working title like ‘Sabotage,’ ‘Velvet Assassin’ captures the heart of what we are trying to achieve. From the start we’ve wanted a game with a strong female lead that stays true to the history of Violette Szabo while pulling players into a world of dark deception.”

Velvet Assassin has been developed by Replay Studios and will be published by the Gamecock Media Group. The stealth action game is expected to release in the fall season of 2008 on the next generation console as well as the PC platforms. Velvet Assassin seems interesting and could be similar to Perfect Dark Zero but with a World War II setting.
