“Metal Gear Solid” Movie to be Made by Sony

Metal Gear Solid Poster One more video game movie in the pipeline. Of course, a Metal Gear Solid movie announcement was made at E3, but no detailed reports followed the event. Now Sony has officially confirmed that they are making a Metal Gear Solid movie.

Yair Landau, VC, Sony Pictures Entertainment says, “We’re working with the Metal Gear guys. It is a very cinematic game; it really lends itself to movie telling. However, the question is, ‘How do you translate Snake’s experience into a full arc that conforms to what audiences expect on the large screen?’ There are other games we are looking to develop. We are working with one of my favorite producers right now on an idea for an EverQuest movie.”

Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima said, “I have received many offers to adapt Metal Gear Solid. It has taken a long time, but we have finally settled on an arrangement. False facts aside, a movie project is underway. I have finalized a Class-A contract with a party in Hollywood.”
