The exact Skyrim DLC release date for PS3 may still have been kept under wraps, but eager fans can revel in the fact that the add-ons will indeed be hitting Sony’s console sometime this February. These include Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn. Besides, in a compensation of sorts, PS3 owners will be receiving them with 50 percent discounts during their respective first weeks of launch. Another important piece of information coming through Bethesda’s official blog is that the Dragonborn DLC will be arriving for PC via Steam on February 5.
Prior to the launch of the Skyrim DLC on PS3 its new 1.8 title update will go live on PSN, for gamers to download the changes required for the game to be able to run the add-ons. All the additional content created for the title till date has only been going the way of the Xbox 360 and PC till now. The reason for their no-show on Sony’s console was given to be the technical limitations of the machine. But it was in November last year that the first ray of hope appeared for these gamers, when Bethesda announced that it is close to porting the DLC to the PS3.
Then in December, it was confirmed that the game’s latest add-on, Dragonborn will be coming to the console early this year. And now, it has finally been revealed that all the DLC packs that have been launched for the game will be headed to the PS Store in February. Their price details haven’t been disclosed as yet but Dawnguard and Dragonborn are expected to sell at 19.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,075) each., while Hearthfire will be going for 4.99 USD (approx. Rs. 270). As mentioned above, during the first weeks of their respective launches, they will be selling with 50 percent discounts.
Although the Xbox 360 has been at the forefront of receiving new game content first, the PC platform has also been getting it regularly, albeit after certain intervals. Dragonborn will be hitting Steam on February 5, and it will be available through the platform in English, French, Italian, Spanish and German versions.
