New Skyrim DLC ‘close’ to releasing for PS3 and PC

The news of fresh Skyrim DLC for the PS3 and PC has sparked off quite some anticipation among those who prefer playing the game on the two platforms. What this content will be is still to be confirmed by Bethesda. PS3 owners have since long been complaining about them not receiving the two expansions that have been made available for Xbox 360 and PC gamers. Even the third DLC, announced just this week, is slated to arrive on the Xbox 360, with no news about it being targeted for any other platforms.

But if a tweet by the official Bethesda developers’ account (which goes by the handle @BGS_Devs) is to be believed, the studio is close to launching new Skyrim DLC for the PS3 and PC. For owners of Sony’s console, it could mean a number of different things, as none among the three expansions have yet been announced for it. The developer has mentioned in the past that it’s the technical limitations of the machine that are preventing it from supporting the add-ons.

As far as PC is concerned, this platform has received both the previous expansions, a few weeks after their releases on Xbox 360. Hence, it is only the new Dragonborn content that can be expected for it. Bethesda still hasn’t managed to break its silence about the whole matter, and we have nothing but the tweet to ponder our minds over.

This wonderful open world RPG was launched for the three platforms in November last year. A fifth main entry to the Elder Scrolls series, it immediately managed to impress players and critics alike, going on to win several GotY awards, apart from other accolades. In our review of it, we gave it a perfect score of 10/10 citing its immense canvas and its hooking gameplay.

Its firs DLC, dubbed Dawnguard came out in May this year, allowing fans to witness the return of Lord Harkon, the ruler of an ancient Vampire clan named the Volkihar. It was followed by the Hearthfire content which granted gamers the ability to build houses and even adopt children. Its third piece of DLC, called Dragonborn, is slated to hit the Xbox 360 on December 4. We’ll have more on the new Skyrim DLC for the PS3 and PC as and when fresh information is out.
