The Need for Speed: Most Wanted release date for Wii U has been thrown out by EA and Criterion Games. This reboot, which had come out for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and PS Vita in November last year, will be arriving for Nintendo’s new console on March 19 in North America and on March 21 in Europe. Fresh features will be seen making their way into this version, meant to utilize the various unique traits that the Wii U puts forth.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted will take advantage of the console’s GamePad controller in more ways than one. A fully new two-player cooperative mode has been devised for this edition. Dubbed Co-op Driver, this mode will have one player drive the car using either a Wii Remote or a Wii U Pro controller, while the other one makes use of the GamePad so as to provide control and navigation assistance on through an interactive real-time map. These gamers will be able to use touch gestures for actions such as distracting pursuing cops, switching from night to day or activating enhanced performance for any car.
Moreover, throughout the whole game, individual players will be able to perform such actions as changing their mods, switching into their favorite cars, tracking milestones and uncovering the city’s hidden gems, all via the GamePad’s touchscreen. Another feature that will form part of the Wii U version is the ability for gamers to play the entire title off-screen, on the GamePad. This means that even if the TV is to be used for any other function, players can still continue to keep playing on their GamePads.
The Wii U edition of the title will also come bundled with the Ultimate Speed Pack DLC that was launched in December last year. Five cars, namely the McLaren F1 LM, the Lamborghini Aventador J, the Pagani Zonda R, the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse and the Hennessey Venom GT Spyder were added to the game by this premium DLC pack.
As mentioned above, the Wii U release date for Need for Speed: Most Wanted has been set to fall on March 19 in North America and on March 21 in Europe. It can be pre-ordered now at a price of 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,235).
