Square Enix delays Dungeon Siege III, to release in June

The highly-awaited action RPG multi-platform title Dungeon Siege III was slated to release in May 2011. Fans of the franchise that were eagerly looking forward to getting their hands on the game may have to wait a little longer than the previously prescribed date. The companies announce that Dungeon Siege III is now scheduled to release across Europe and other PAL territories on June 17 while North American players can grab their copy on June 21, 2011.

“Square Enix is committed to delivering the ultimate Dungeon Siege experience. Although the final polish phase has demanded a bit more time than originally planned, we want to assure fans and followers that the additional effort will allow us to deliver an action–RPG worthy of its rich heritage,” commented Mike Fischer, president and CEO of Square Enix.

The new installment lets gamers take on the role of any one legionnaire from among four. The title transports players to the kingdom of Ehb which is constantly in battle. The decisions made by the gamers directly affect the overall outcome of Dungeon Siege III. The events of the game can be either undertaken alone or along with up to three friends. The latest offering is published by Square Enix and developed by Obsidian Entertainment.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Dungeon Siege III will be priced at 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,645) each while the Windows PC offering can be acquired for 49.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,204).
